Margaret Thatcher believed she wouldn’t see a woman prime minister in her lifetime. She became the first woman to head a British political party, and soon afterwards, became the first woman prime minister. She held the position for an impressive 11 years and 209 days, becoming the longest continuously serving prime minister since 1812!
