J.R.R. Tolkien was once in a book reading club with C.S. Lewis. The group would review one another’s work and on reading Lewis’ “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe” Tolkien reportedly deemed it unreadable and told Lewis to shelve it.
