There have been plenty of seafaring peoples, but none quite as impressive as the Vikings of Scandinavia! During their reign, they managed to cover the coast of Europe, the continental shelf and all the way up into the Northern Atlantic, ultimately reaching Iceland, Greenland and North America. This is particularly impressive considering that the Vikings employed almost no sophisticated navigational techniques, they were simply experts at reading the stars!
