Did you know that the Dogon People, an ancient tribe in Mali, Africa, claim to have gained navigational knowledge and information about our solar system from people who descended to Earth from the stars? Known as the Nommos, these space people claimed to have come from the planet Sirius near Orion’s Belt, which apparently had two stars instead of one. Remarkably, astronomers later confirmed in 1970 that Sirius did indeed have a companion star. How was this tribe aware of the rounding of the Earth and the presence of distant stars hundreds of years before anyone else? It’s a mystery!
